"VULVAR PEDUNCOLATED LESION"

Clinical history: a 52y.o. woman presents with occasional metrorrhagia and a peduncolated lesion is removed from the vulva.
Macroscopic description: A 2.5x7x1 cm, soft, elastic lesion (pict. 1).
Microscopic description: the lesion consists of medium and small vessels proliferation in a loose, myxoid stroma (pict. 2) - (pict. 3) - (pict. 4); the medium sized vessels have thickened wall.
The stromal cellular component consists of spindled or star-like cells with regular nuclei and central nucleoli (pict. 5); the cells are positive with immunohistochemical staining for alfa-Actin (pict. 6) and Desmin and are negative for protein S-100.
Occasional giant cells (pict. 7) and remnants of glands lined by cuboidal cells with regular nuclei (pict. 8) are noted .
Proliferation index is low.
