"PERITONEAL MASSES IN A 22Y.O. MAN"
M. GAMBACORTA - Niguarda Hospital - Milano
(pict. by dr. Faravelli)

Clinical history: in 1984 a 22y.o. Southern man received an abdominal CT scan at Niguarda hospital; with all the limitation that at the time the method had, a liver mass in the right lobe and multiple omental nodules were discovered.
The man underwent surgery and one of the omental mass was removed for diagnosis because the complete excision of all the masses was impossible.
Microscopic description: the lesion is relatively homogeneous and shows a rich eosinophilic matrix (pict. 1), with chondroid-like feature (pict. 2) - (pict. 3).
At high power small vessels lined by regular endothelial cells are noted; in the lumens red blood cells are presents (pict. 4) - (pict. 5).
The lining cells are intensely positive with antisera for CD31 (pict. 6) and Fact. VIII (pict. 7) - (pict. 8).
