C. CLEMENTE - S. Pio X Private Hospital
(pictures by Dr. Clemente)
Clinical history: a 72y.o.woman presents with a small nodule (less than 1 cm) in the inferior-external quadrant of the right breast; it is surgically excised.
Microscopical description: a well-defined, solid tumor (pict. 1 - pict. 2), consisting of cells with large, eosinophilic and finely granular cytoplasm and rather pleomorphic nuclei; sometimes, prominent nucleoli are evident (pict. 3 - pict. 4 - pict. 5 - pict. 6).
The neoplastic cells are strongly positive for Cytokeratin (pict. 7) and negative for S100.
