MINUTES OF THE MEETING HELD ON JANUARY 17th, 2001 AT NATIONAL CANCER INSTITUTE, MILANO

This was the first meeting held at the Cancer Institute since Prof. Rosai arrived in Milano and perhaps this was the reason why so many pathologists came, like ants to the honey pot: 65 participants attended the meeting; it was a record, also considering that a few late comers did not sign the attendance book.
Many cases were presented (seven to be précised) with the help of the most different kind of technical equipment: some pathologists used the old but always effective viewing slides, some employed the latest portable PC and some came, instead, with the usual glass slides in the pocket.
Unfortunately and in spite of the repeated requests for the material to be published on the web site, some of the presenters did not send it and for this reason they will miss the opportunity to become well known around the world; it has to be remembered, in fact, that the web site www.patologi-milano.org has reached nearly 4000 monthly visitors, 60% of whom, thanks to the presence of the English translation, are from abroad.
At the end of the meeting a tasty buffet was served. We hope that the “virtual” 4000 participants remain alike, otherwise what would it happen of the yummy smorgasbord?
The next meeting will be at the San Paolo Hospital on February 14th; would the record be beaten?
